What is the Alumni Society?
The mission of the Penn State World Campus Alumni Society is to establish and sustain a global network of alumni of Penn State World Campus, to foster engagement between the alumni and the University and current and prospective students, to sponsor social and professional activities relevant to the interests of World Campus alumni, and to advance the goals and values of World Campus, the Penn State Alumni Association, and Penn State. The leadership of the World Campus Alumni Society partners with University leadership to advise on its alumni engagement strategy and help grow our community and support current World Campus students.
Who can serve on the Society’s leadership?
All graduates and former students of World Campus who are members of the Penn State Alumni Association are eligible to serve as leaders.
The Society’s leadership brings a passion for Penn State and their experience as World Campus students. They should be able to commit time and energy to actively serving on one or more of the Society’s committees, leading or participating in key Alumni Society initiatives, and advocating on behalf of World Campus and the Alumni Association.
World Campus is working to establish a culture that embraces individual identities, fosters a culture of inclusion, and promotes equity through curricula, values, standards, ideals, policies, and practices. The ideal leader will share our commitment to advancing these goals.
Society leadership meetings occur quarterly, with additional committee meetings throughout the year. Virtual participation in all leadership meetings is available — the Alumni Society is open to all members regardless of proximity to University Park.
How can I get involved?
Society leaders are selected by the current leadership for three-year terms, which begin on July 1 of each year. If you are interested in being considered, please review our current bylaws and then complete the nomination form by April 1.
If you are passionate about World Campus and are dedicated to serving your fellow alumni and our University, we hope you will consider applying for this important role!
