Penn State World Campus has once again been recognized for its commitment to making higher education more accessible and supporting the academic success of Pennsylvania National Guard members.
The Pennsylvania National Guard Associations (PNGAS) has designated Penn State World Campus as a Guard-Friendly School. PNGAS is dedicated to supporting the nearly 20,000 members and more than 67,000 veterans of the Pennsylvania National Guard and their families.
According to PNGAS, Penn State World Campus fosters a supportive learning environment for members of the Pennsylvania National Guard who are pursuing post-secondary education. It is the only online institution in Pennsylvania to receive this designation.
Penn State World Campus exceeded PNGAS’ criteria, which include:
- accepting tuition assistance through the Pennsylvania Education Assistance Program and the Department of Defense’s GI Bill®
- maintaining policies to protect the academic standing and enrollment status of National Guard students
- providing training to faculty and staff to support National Guard members
Members of the Pennsylvania National Guard are among the more than 40,000 Penn State graduates who earned their degrees online through Penn State World Campus.
